What is the purpose of processing data, and what is the legal basis?
Data is processed for the purpose of offering employment. It is necessary to process your data, in compliance with Art. 6 Para. 1 b) GDPR, for the purpose of concluding and performing the contract with you. In addition, data processing, in compliance with Art. 6 Para. 1 f) GDPR, is necessary for the purposes of our legitimate interests. Our legitimate interests exist in connection with the fulfillment of mutual obligations arising from the job application process.

What sorts of data do we process?
We process the following categories of data:
- Personal data (first name, surname, date of birth, address, academic qualifications)
- Communication data (telephone no., mobile no., fax no., e-mail address)
- Information from third parties (e.g., credit reference agencies or public records)
- Data about evaluation and assessment in the application process
- Data about qualifications (school, vocational training, military/community service, higher education, doctorate)
- Data about previous employment, training certificates, and employer testimonials
- Information about other qualifications (e.g. foreign languages, computer skills, voluntary work)
- Photograph for job application
- Salary requirements
- Application history
- Other unstructured data uploaded by the applicant

To whom is your data given?
We only use the personal data you provide for the purpose of processing your application for the advertised position. Only people who are involved in the application process will have access to your personal data. All members of staff entrusted with data processing are under an obligation of confidentiality. We will not pass your personal data to any third party.

Is data transmitted to any third country or to any international organization?
Your data will not be transmitted to any country outside the EU. If service providers in a third country are used for processing, they have undertaken to maintain the same level of data protection as in the EU.

How long do we store your data?
The data of unsuccessful applicants is deleted after 3 months such that the data is available for the duration of the two-month period for making claims, as per Section 15 Paragraph 4 General Act on Equal Treatment (AGG). The application data is barred from being accessed during this retention period. Data of successful applicants is placed in the personnel file.

Is there an obligation to provide data?
Processing of the collected data is necessary for implementing the application process between you and ourselves. If we are not able to process the data, we cannot perform our contractual duties to you. Therefore we cannot offer you employment if you refuse to allow the data to be processed.

What are your data protection rights?
If the statutory requirements are met, you have the following rights under Art. 15 to 22 GDPR:
Right of access, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing, data portability. In addition, under Art. 13 Para. 2 b) in conjunction with Art. 21 GDPR, you have a right to object to processing that is based on Art. 6 Para. 1 f) GDPR.
Under Art. 77 GDPR, you have the right to lodge a complaint with the supervisory authority if you consider that the processing of your personal data infringes this regulation.

Information about your right to object under Art. 21 GDPR:
You have the right to object, on grounds relating to your particular situation, at any time to processing of personal data concerning you which is based on Art. 6 Para 1 f GDPR (Data processing on the basis of balancing of interests). If you do object, we will not process your personal data unless we can demonstrate that there are compelling legitimate grounds for the processing which override your interests, rights, and freedoms or unless the purpose of processing is for the exercise or defense of legal claims.
You have the right to object at any time to processing of personal data for advertising purposes. If you object to processing for the purposes of advertising, we will not process your personal data for these purposes.
